Open Educational Materials of the sustainability-focused Project-Based Learning (PBL) experience implemented in the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Automation and Robotics, as part of the Projects in Technical Informatics Course, at SUT.
The challenge involved three practical projects in which students applied programming, automation, computational methods, and sensor-based technologies to develop smart and sustainable solutions. The objective was to design a strength calculation tool, an intelligent plant-care system, and an automated greenhouse, integrating technical functionality with sustainability principles such as resource and energy efficiency, water conservation, material optimisation, green computing, and extended product lifecycles.
