On 12 December 2025, the ENVIHEI project completed Level 2 of its Professional Development Program (PDP) with Workshop 10, titled “Transforming Educational Practices for Environmental Sustainability. (Reflection on evaluation of the intervention and action plan for continuing Professional Development)”. This final online session brought together educators to reflect on their journeys of integrating sustainability into higher education teaching throughout PDP implementation.
Building on the PDP’s mission to foster student-centered learning and green competences, the workshop offered a dedicated space for participants to share experiences and compare approaches to implementing sustainable educational initiatives in their own contexts. During the two-hours workshop, 15 lecturers and 3 facilitators worked in four collaborative groups to discuss:
- Their envisioned changes in their teaching practices,
- the modifications they have already implemented and how,
- challenges encountered along the way, and
- strategies that helped, or could help, overcome these obstacles.
This interactive peer exchange underscored the importance of reflective practice and mutual learning in fostering meaningful transformation towards environmental sustainability in higher education.
Completing Workshop 10 signified that participating educators have successfully reached the Level 2 Explorer (Learning to do), demonstrating concrete progress in applying sustainability-focused PBL practices in their work.
This milestone also highlights the strong community of educators and peers fostered throughout the PDP experience, a network that will continue to support, inspire, and collaborate on advancing sustainability in higher education.
The ENVIHEI community now turns its eyes to the next milestone: the Winter School at Montanuniversität Leoben in Austria, taking place from 23–28 February 2026, part of the PDP Level 3 Groundbreaker (Learning to do more), a fully immersive opportunity for deeper learning and collaboration around sustainability and PBL methodologies.
