On 10 December 2025, Computer Engineering students at the University of León participating in the pilot implementation phase of ENVIHEI presented their solutions to a real-world industrial challenge following sustainability principles.
📝The initiative, organised by the FaCyL-Automotive Cluster from Castilla y León (Spain) and integrated into a Project Management course, invited students to work in teams on a genuine industry challenge proposed by the company Antolin.

💡 Following the principles of project-based learning (PBL), the activity encouraged students to tackle the proposed technical challenge: detecting anomalies in the production of plastic components for car interiors quickly and efficiently, before they enter the manufacturing line. This approach not only supports cost savings, but also reduces waste generation integrating an environmental and sustainability dimension into the students’ projects.
🏆After presenting their proposed solutions, the best team solution received an award granted by FaCyL. You can find more information about the competition here.
This alignment between industry relevance, academic content, and sustainability competence development reflects ENVIHEI’s proposal of transforming learning through student-centred, authentic experiences within education for sustainability.
