Last week, more than 130 students, professors, and university staff took part in the interactive activity “Roots of Values, Seeds of Sustainability”, organised by the ENVIHEI project at University of León to celebrate the Erasmus Days 2025.
The event connected the six core values of the European Union — respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law, and human rights — with key sustainability competences promoted by ENVIHEI. Through six creative and collaborative challenges, participants explored how these fundamental values serve as the roots of a shared European identity, while sustainability represents the seeds for a greener and fairer future.
✨ All participants successfully completed the six challenges, experiencing first-hand how values and sustainability are interconnected in everyday actions and decisions. The energy and enthusiasm in both sessions showed how powerful this combination can be.

At the end of the activity, the participants left inspired and motivated and, as the ENVIHEI team put it, “we have planted the seed of the ideas we are working for within the project.”
